TEDxFondduLac organizers are accepting speaker and performer applications starting January 1, 2018 through February 4, 2018 for its second TEDxFondduLac event happening this summer. While the theme of the event has not been released yet, organizers explain it is a broad idea that will be able to encompass a wide variety of potential talks, such as last event’s “Fear Forward” theme. Anyone wishing to speak on a TEDx stage about their topic of choice are encouraged to apply.
Individuals can nominate themselves or someone they believe would have a great idea to share on stage at tedxfonddulac.com. All ideas are accepted for consideration. A speaker interest guide will also be on the website with important dates and valuable information for those considering applying.
TEDxFondduLac occurred for the first time on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in downtown Fond du Lac to a captive audience of 100 guests. 14 speakers took the stage that day, providing attendees in person, and later on a global scale through its recorded videos, with powerful messages on scientific discoveries, personal triumphs and more. The videos from each speaker can be found on their bios on the tedxfonddulac.com website.
Tickets for the August 25, 2018 event are not available yet and will be released later in the year after speakers have been announced, but will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Less than 200 tickets will be made available and after selling out in 6 hours for the 2017 event, are expected to sell out quickly again.
A TEDx event is organized independently of any other event, organization, or other affiliation in the spirit of TED conferences (Technology, Entertainment, and Design). This volunteer-driven initiative, operated under a license granted by the TED organization, will combine live speakers and official TED videos, as well as an interactive environment, to challenge the thinking of all those who attend. This information can also be found as it is available at www.TEDxFondduLac.com and its Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/tedxfonddulac.
